I’m using a Q-tip to dab 100% pure tea tree oil on pimples and it has worked very well so far, but I want to make sure this won’t cause any future problems. I’m not allergic to it or anything, but should I wet the Q-tip with water first to dilute the tea tree oil, or is using a Q-tip instead of direct from the bottle onto my skin enough?

If you are experiencing pimple redness and would like to learn how to reduce the redness of pimples fast, then read this collection of favorite home remedies and tips:

1. Avoid the urge to pick, pop or squeeze a pimple. This could cause the spread of bacteria and you could end up with a permanent scar.

2. To reduce the redness of a pimple, apply ice to the area every half hour. You should hold the ice on the affected area for about 2 minutes. The ice will reduce the swelling and can help with any pain you might be experiencing. Now use a makeup concealer with a tint of green to remove redness and hide the pimple.

3. Apply a mixture of crushed aspirin and water to the affected area.

4. Apply a drop or two of Visine eye drops to the pimple.

5. Take some ibuprofen and swab the pimple with alcohol. It takes a couple of hours for the ibuprofen to kick it, but it relieves the pain and shrinks the swelling.

6. If you’re in need of a quick fix, applying a bit of toothpaste to the affected area right before bed can help soothe pain and reduce redness.

7. Pressing and holding a wet tea bag or a cotton ball with a dab of lemon juice against the blemish for five minutes can reduce swelling and redness.

Remember, the best way to control pimples is through prevention. It is important to cleanse your skin 2 – 3 times per day to remove dirt, oil, makeup and dead skin cells. A moisturizer should also be used, if you are using any acne products like benzoyle peroxide to maintain the skin’s moisture.

If you have that big date tonight or perhaps a special occasion coming up, the last thing you want to deal with is a big pimple, messing up the appearance of your entire face. This can be a horrible blow and you may be wondering how you can get rid of it quickly. Well, don’t panic. Here are a few great pimple cures that will help you out so you still look great for your big event.

1) Do Not Touch Them with Your Hands

First of all, before we get to the pimple cures, it is important that you keep your hands off the pimples. Avoid touching them or pinching them, since this can actually make the problem worse.

Your hands might have more bacteria on them and if you squeeze or pinch your pimples, you may end up actually spreading the problem or making it pop on the inside, looking worse. So, just don’t touch the problem area.

2) Wash Gently

When it comes to pimple cures, washing your face can definitely help. Of course you need to make sure that you wash your face very gently. If you scrub away at your face trying to get rid of those pimples fast, you will only succeed in making them look worse and more irritated.

3) Use an Ice Cube to Relieve Swelling

One of many simple pimple cures is to take an ice cube and apply it to the pimple to help relieve the swelling. You can apply the ice cube for several minutes, and it will help to get rid of some of the redness you are dealing with as well as the swelling that tends to make the pimples look like they are sticking out.

4) A Dab of Lemon Juice

A dab of lemon juice is another of several pimple cures that can really help. Simply take a lemon, take off the peel, and then take a bit of the juice and apply it to the problem.

Leave the lemon juice on your skin for about 15 minutes or so, and then gently rinse it off with warm water. The lemon juice helps to kill the bacteria and cure the problem.

5) Use a Bit of Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is wonderful for treating all manner of skin problems, and it can also help to sooth away your pimple problem as well. Simply apply a bit to the pimple with clean hands and let it sit there and alleviate the pain and redness.

As you can see, there are many great pimple cures out there today. So, if you have a pimple that you need to get rid of quickly, take the time to use one of these pimple cures, or even all of them, to get rid of that pimple as quick as possible.
